How to Quickly Uninstall Any File or Program from Your PC

You can easily uninstall any file or program from your computer without the need of the disk. However, having the disk is usually the best way of doing it because it will usually take everything that could possibly be linked to the computer.

Find the File

When it comes to the files, this is the easiest thing to do. All you need to do is find where the file is being kept and then click on it. You have two options from here. You can either press the DEL key or you can right click and select delete. You will see a box asking you to confirm that you want to delete the file from your computer. You should click yes and the file will removed to the recycling bin or trash can – depending on what it is called on your system.

While it is in the trash can, you will have the choice of restoring it or you can permanently delete it. This is great if you have accidentally deleted something. The problem is that the files in the trash can will still take up room on your computer so if you want to make the room, you will need to delete them from there.

Removing a Program

Programs are a little more complicated, because you will need to go through an uninstalling process. This is not too difficult but there are lots of options to choose from. There are also a few problems behind uninstalling a program from your computer, such as creating broken links and registries.

The first thing you could try is from the disk. You should put that in your disk drive and then select the uninstall option. This will go through the uninstall wizard, which may ask for your input. You may need to restart your computer after this process.

The next option that you have is to go through the uninstall process from the start menu. Not all programs will have this option – many of the newer ones do not bother with this option. When you select the uninstall wizard to start, you may be prompted for input. Your final option is to go through the Control Panel and into the Add or Remove Programs section. This, again, will take you through the process and could ask for your input.

After you uninstall any file or program, you will find that there are still remains of it somewhere on the computer. You should search for these and removed them. Afterwards, you should run a disk defragmenter, which will fix any of the gaps that the files or programs left.
